My 2nd Birthday!

We'll Adriancito's Birthday was partially planned out. We definitely knew that the day after thanksgiving we were going to see 1-2-3 Imagine with Elmo and friends at the Bradley Center. In early May an attorney that works closely with the office that I work for mentioned him taking his son to see Elmo. I mentioned my son loved Elmo and he mentioned that his wife got the tickets from her work and they get them at a discounted price and pre-sale. So I jumped on it. Two weeks later I had our front row tickets in my hands. I only had a couple of doubts. One- by the time his birthday rolled around he wouldn't be in this Elmo phase anymore. Two- that he would be terrified of the huge elmo compared to the little one on tv. Since Thanksgiving, Elmo show, his real birthday and grandma Irma's birthday all land on the same extended weekend it was going to be busy one.

First... Elmo. So the show started 2:00 p.m. we had vip tickets for a meet and greet with elmo an hour prior to the show. So we arrived at 12:50 waited 10 min for the doors to open and headed to the room to meet Elmo. Adriancito had no idea what was about to hit him. But as soon as Elmo and Rosita walked out his face lit up. He was getting out of line to get a closer look and telling us to look. He laughed and could not wipe the smile off his face with anticipation to see them. When we finally reached the front of the line the fuzzy characters grabbed him and put him on their lap to take the picture. He giggled and could not stop smiling and laughing. I think me and mon were on the verge of tears to see him so happy. He said bye and we left with little adrian wanting more. Then we waited for the show to start.

Trying to get a closer look at Elmo

The room was dark and my flash didn't go off..

Our seats were in the front row but off the left a little. None the less we were very happy. During the show lots of characters came down to say hi to little adriancito including Rosita and Bert. He loved the show and we even had to hold him back from running after the characters when they came down the stage. He was definetly entertained but because the show was during his nap.. he still had no nap that day. So towards the end of the show he was tired and rested his head on his daddy. He was a blink away from falling asleep but then the show finished. Snuggled into the carseat he fell asleep.
Second... the celebration. Since black friday everyone is out shopping we decided to head to chuck e cheese that day versus his real birthday. So right after the show we headed to chuck e cheese to celebrate with family. We had no reservation and it was a last minute decision for me and mon so we just crossed our fingers and hoped it was gonna be a slow day at chuck e cheese. Sure enough there was just enough space for our party and a lot of family showed up.

The cake

I am so grateful to have so many people in our lives. It was an exhausting day but a good one. On top of that I was getting sick and loosing my voice by the end of the day. But Me and mon are very happy that everyone shared Adriancito's brithday with us and to see both of our families come together is a great feeling. Thank you everyone.

It's Cold Outside

So yesterday was the day of our great blizzard in Milwaukee. Not really! It was too warm so it was more rain than snow. But it was the first time little Adrian could actually enjoy the snow. The last couple of years he really didn't know what was going on. But yesterday morning as soon as we walked outside he had a huge smile on his face and told me "mira, mira". He loved it and ran in the slushy mess outside. He even slipped a couple of times and got his clothes all wet.

We had Adriancito's 2 year doctor's appointment and he was a trooper. After trying a new pediatrician that I didn't like at ALL. I went back to my old one and he loved to see everyone again. It's so nice to have that stability because they have seen him grow since he was born. The nurse was soo happy to see him and commented on how he had grown since his last visit. Adriancito recognized her and since she's a younger female, her wish was his command. After that awful ER visit he's been terrified of the doctor but I couldn't believe how much of a good boy he was this time around. I was also relieved he got the H1N1 vaccine. I was contemplating getting it but better safe than sorry.

My semester is almost over and then I can really relax and enjoy the winter weather. I can't believe that it was -16 windchill this morning when I left the house. I had to struggle a little with adriancito to get his snow suit on. He was not happy but it was cold. I hope we get a big snow fall soon so he can fully enjoy the snow, maybe even go sledding, I don't know. All I know is that I'm excited my baby is getting bigger and it's fun being able to do more things with him.

Mi Pollito

For Halloween last year my little mister was tigger! This year I felt like a bad mother because it was the night before trick or treating and I still didn't buy him a costume. My boss mentioned he got a good deal at burlington coat factory so halloween eve i headed there to see what I could find. Initially I was thinking he could be a T-bird from the the movie Grease. All we needed was a leather jacket and gel up the baby hair with a curl in the front. But once I got to burlington I saw the cutest little costumes. I walked out with a dragon and chicken costume and a leather or pleather jacket. When I got home we tried on the chicken and knew that was the choice.

We left a sign and a bowl full of candy for the children passing by our house. While setting up everything in front, adriancito was sitting on the porch eating some candy from the bowl but when children came with their costumes. He got scared and right away got up and headed inside, starring at the kids. It was adriancito's first time actually trick or treating and he was scared from time to time of people handing out candy with masks. It was very cold so we didn't do much trick or treating but it was fun to get out and see all the other costumes and see how people reacted to little adriancito's costume. I was never really a fan of halloween but I think now that I have a child I am more enthusiastic. This year we also bought about 6 pumpkins and carved out sesame street characters.

When returning the dragon costume and jacket the next day I noticed I bought the costumes 50% off and i only paid 4.50 for one and 6.50 for the other. What a deal... We decided to keep the dragon costume just in case we want to see a little dragon running around the house.

Third Hair Cut

At 20 months old, Limoncito got his third haircut. Like previously posted we love his curls. But the curls were starting to become an issue. He was sweating like crazy and man can this baby sweat. We also noticed that he the longer the hair the more he would scratch the back of his head. So we decided it was time for a new hair do. Usually I sit with him in the chair but this time little limon was all on his own since we were going to a different place. He cried the entire time but didn't move. He just sat there and cried yelling mama while getting his hair cut. When the barber was done we absolutely LOVED this hair cut. He looks so adorable and i love being able to see his little ears. We most definitely will be visiting the barber more often.

Fall is here!

Well fall is here and little Adrian has adjusted pretty well. Right now we're restocking on fall clothes, changing everything from baby proof to toddler proof and transitioning from summer to fall. Adriancito is so energetic, adventurous and always looking for something new to discover. This is very different from how he was in the spring. In the spring we would stay by me and not go anywhere without me. And now I take him out and put him down and he darts out running. It's a little exhausting but I love it. I love his energy, his ability to smile regardless of any situation. Children they are so innocent and have no worries.
So about 2 weeks ago me and little limon were playing hide and seek. When he crawled away from me and slipped and hit his head on the door frame. I picked him up from crying when I saw the hugest dump on his forehead!! Oh my I was freaking out. Mon immediately ran over and saw him and saw how I was freaking out. Did I say I was freaking out.. cuz I was. It was my first experience with the baby hitting himself with any kind of bump after a minute or two. We headed to the ER to make sure he didn't have a concussion. The nurse didn't seem to have much patience with a two year old. He was very aggressive with him and was scaring the baby and frustrating me. So that wasn't a good experience but we were in and out. It didn't take long at all and the doctor said he was fine just try to put ice on it and tylenol. The bump and bruise came and are gone now. My little one is as good as new.. Sorry no pic of his first warrior wound. He's been feeling a little under the weather so the last couple of night have really been rough on me. I will blog again when i get some rest. Goodnite.

Funny Little Guy!

This morning was a funny morning. I was getting us ready for the day.. When little lemon saw a pitcher of kool aid (sugar free of course) on the table, he expressed that he wanted some. So I gave him some in his sippy cup but without the lid. (Mainly so I could see if he could handle drinking it without the lid) I filled it just a little, gave it to him and he started drinking it. He comes back while I'm getting ready in the bathroom and says he wants more. I give him more and go back in the bathroom to brush my teeth. While I'm brushing my teeth.. I hear this loud, swooshing sound. I run in the kitchen and see the baby on a chair next to the table and all the kool aid that was in the pitcher, on the floor. The little funny guy had the pitcher in his hand and the sippy cup on the table. It was obvious he tried to climb the table and refill his cup. At the time I was yelling at him but laughing while thinking about it through the day. He's so cute.. he's most definitely going through his curiosity stage.
He also loves to cuddle!

ZOO!

Limon took a couple of days off of work and we headed to the zoo. It was his first trip and I haven't been to the zoo since my senior picnic in high school and even then I didn't see any animals. So going to the zoo was a real treat for me too. It was fun and I went above and beyond to make sure the little guy saw all the animals. He seemed at his happiest, running around everywhere and seeing all these other kids and even trying to strike up a conversation with other little girls. wink wink. I love it when he notices other children, runs over by them and then starts to talk to them. Not in real words of course in baby jiberish. But I love it that he takes the initiative. He called all the animals, "wow wow" which is what he calls dogs but at least he acknowledged them. Although I think me and Mon seemed way more excited to see the animals. Well maybe just me.

It was a rough start! Little lemon feel asleep on the way
and was not happy when he woke up!

It got better once Papi and Elmo started cuddling with him.
I know it looks like Elmo has a hole in his head but it's a puppet.

The first animal we saw was a little monkey in his cage
and he forgot all about his tantrum.

The lazy bear was also cool! Man I wish I had a hammock.

Looking at the seals and polar bear swimming

We probably shouldn't of tried feeding this jiraffe.
It was sticking its neck through the wires while me
and others tried feeding it plants.
Then we got yelled at. Oops.

Looking at the Elephant eat.

Out of a room full of people the lion on the left stared and walked
towards little limon while he was standing up against
the glass. And they just stared at each other,
it was wierd and scary.

He loved this little car in the Dairy Farm
until some unsupervised older kids punked
him out of his spot and made him slide down.
Meanwhile me and mon were sitting in a bench
next to him. Let's just say that he let them
know he wasupset. We then soothed his pain
with ice cream and also to cool him down cuz
it was a hot day. This is before the cold
weather hit Milwaukee.

We had fun feeding the goats, adriancito loved them but
he still wouldn't let his dad put him down because
he was scared of them. Here is a picture for proof.
We pretty much stayed feeding the goats until we
got kicked out. I loved it and the lady running the stand
gave us hand fulls of goat food (i don't know what it was).
So that was pretty cool. The goats were getting aggressive
and hitting each other if another goat came to feed off our food.

Overall it was a good experience and I kinda felt bad that I hadn't brought little limon before. But in actuality if I would've brought him he wouldn't of known or cared what was going on. This was the perfect age for his first trip. Our trip to the zoo was a perfect way to end the summer. I am a little disappointed we didn't have enough time to see the Apes Exhibit but we all had a great time. I hope to return more next year and the years to come.

Love is in the Air

It is official little limon is in love with ELMO. I can't even count how many times I hear the word Elmo in one day. It's even to the point where little mister wants to see Elmo all day and I need to put my foot down and say no more. It is nice though because I can put on Elmo and I can do things that I need to get done around the house. Attached is a video of us at Walmart where he spotted an Elmo blanket and had a little make out session with it. Please ignore my laughing in the background I didn't want to distract him.

The kisses continued on and on and on and I didn't have enough memory to catch it all. Needless to say we didn't need another blanket much less in the summer time but we caved and bought it.

Limon and I are also exploring the possiblity of putting Adriancito in a Pee-Wee soccer team with two and three year olds. Once he turns two of course. We'll see how things go. We had no luck finding a bike trailer but are still looking. I am not looking forward to going back to school in the fall especially while working. My days are so packed I feel like I'm going crazy but it's all in the life of a mommy. I respect women so much that are parents and work and go to back school it is the hardest thing I've ever experienced. I'm still trying to get through it and I'm not giving up. Also, Adriancito has been a real peach lately. jajaja. Everyday he does something new that amazes us but he's also been a little fussy. I swear sometimes he thinks he's an adult. We can see the terrible twos headed our way. But when he comes up to us and gives us besitos or walks past us unexpectedly wearing our shoes, it's all worth it.

Apologies! Apologies!

Again I have to apologize for not updating my blog of the little one. We had a minor set back, our computer's hard drive died and we lost all of our data, photos and all. We are currently trying to recover everything from Milwaukee PC so cross your fingers and hopefully everything goes well. Above is a picture that little limon took of himself. Last week Limon left out of town for a convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. So me and little limon were here in Milwaukee fending for ourselves. It was nice to spend some quality time with him. In that week he grew obsessed with Elmo and also started saying a handful of new words. When limon came back and noticed the differences in him he seemed sad to have missed so much. He said "it's only been a week". On another note, Little Limon has so much energy and slowly starting to look more like toddler and less like a baby. It's so sad. But I am glad that now we can do so much with him especially in the summer time. He loves the outdoors and his soccer skills are getting better. Needless to say his grandpa is so proud of the future futbolista. Yesturday for the first time Adriancito got a taste of hitting a pinata and was not to happy when his turn ended. Everyone stopped by after and said that for his birthday he was gonna have 5 pinatas because he loved it so much. He was also freaking out when he and I were in the middle of a pit of kids and adults trying to get candies. It was fun and funny cuz when they threw the candies over everyone, some hit lil adrian and he was grabbing his head and freaking out at the same time, it was cute. I also threw a rummage sale and I am very happy to say that it was very successful. A lot of my family brought some things over while we all hanged out while holding down our stations. Here is a pic of him on the porch thinking up his next move

and finally a pic of him and his girlfriend

We've been wanting to buy a bike trailer and a bike for myself so all three of us can go biking together. I even think that little limon is ready for a tricycle so today we are headed to a bike shop to see what we can find. Saludos and besitos to everyone from little limon.

Memorial Day

This memorial day our little family spent at Wilson Park. Even though it was a little chilly, I was glad I went. Little mister loved running around the park. I taught him how to pick dandalions and blow them, he attempting to but couldn't blow hard enough. It was so cute though. We went to playground to play with the big kids but there were sooo many of them. Little mister is an expert when he has the whole playground to himself but a lot of the bigger kids would run by and little adriancito would fall. We played there for a little bit but after going on the swing for a little bit and a walk, we went back to our picnic area. He also kept on stealing our picnic neighbors soccer ball and I had to run every six seconds to take him away. He seems to be going through a phase where he thinks that everything is his... it doesn't matter who is holding it..jajaja. Not to mention he has a thing for balls, it feels like he has a zillion at home. He can successfully kick a ball pretty far and his throwing isn't bad either, Limon is so proud! He's getting him ready for little league went he gets bigger! He's starting to throw and kick with his left but I know it can change later, in one of my classes my professor said it can change later because he's still developing. So overall our memorial day was very eventful and I loved that the baby was so happy. He loves the outdoors, it's going sad when the winter comes around again but until then we are going to enjoy the summer. I decided to enroll little mister in swimming classes again this summer, so expect updates and pictures of that too. Me and Mon have both noticed that Little Limon wanting to talk more it's so cute, he'll sit next to us at home and just talk to us. Of course it's all baby talk so we just nod and say "si". Or he'll play in this room and we'll hear him talking to himself, it's the cutest thing ever. BTW, Sorry I have no pictures for this post I forgot my camera at home on Monday.

Where It All Began...

Last Friday the three of us went to West Allis Memorial Hospital to help our good friends Abe and Val welcome their new addition. Mon and I were excited to see the new baby and also it would be our first visit back since the birth of little limon. Little limon loved running in the hallways of the hospital and am proud that his behavior was very good. Abe and Val wanted to keep the sex a surprise and it was a BOY! Our hearts go out to them and are soo happy for them, we know they will be great parents. Here are a couple of pics..

Everytime someone pushed the button to open these doors Adriancito would run to see if he could catch the doors to get to the other side.

Here We Are!

Little Lucas

The Happy Family

I felt bad Mon didn't get to carry the baby.. Maybe I was hogging him a little..

Today me and little limon are sick and depending on papi to take care of us. We have less than a week to get ready for mon's cousins wedding and IDk about Mon but Im just trying to recover from being sick before Lorena and Juju's big day.... Mon is serving as best man and I am a madrina... A brief Update on little limon outfit.. we have finally completed his outfit here is a quick preview.. It's hard to get little limon to stay still while taking pictures, so while he was playing in his chair I yelled "Mira" (his first and fav word), he looked and SNAP..

Here is another pic of him trying to play with papi while he's sleeping.. He kept on going up to mon and giving him kisses while mon snored away.. lol...

Mama's Day

Our Mother's Day consisted of a very relaxing day. For mother's day limon took me out for a night of dancing while little limon spend the night at my mother's house. The next morning we woke up early to celebrate with my mother and the afternoon we spent at Irma's home (Limon's mother).
It was my ideal mother's day very relaxed. Adriancito was playing with his buggy the while morning. Among my presents my mother and I recieved a beautiful corsage of an orchard from sister. I figured since it only lasts for one day we might as well take some pictures to remember..

My mama

Everyone thought I was so cheesy, walking around with my corsage but I loved it.. As for little mister, he spent the afternoon fighting with Taina for the bongos. But he finally won.. He gave his abuelita Ima besitos and was excited with everyone cheering him on.

Claiming his Prize after his Victory!

Being cheered on after kisses

A broken glass later.. We headed home.

Me and My Buggy

On Sunday we visited my mama's home. It was nice outside so we spent the afternoon outside and Adriancito was running around the yard. But once he saw an abandoned buggy my mom found on her property. It was love at first sight. Him and his buggy could not be seperated. When it started getting chilly later and we decided to head inside. But little Adriancito was not having it. Again him and his buggy could not be seperated. So we had to wheel it inside with adriancito inside cuz he would not get out.

I took these pictures with my cell phone so they may be fuzzy... The picture on the left shows how much fun he was having.. Doesn't it make us all want to just jump into it and play with him... jaja.

On Saturday we also bought lil Limon an outfit for an upcoming wedding at the end of May. Watch out little girls there's gonna be a prince at this ball. All we need is to buy him some shoes to go with it and we are good to go. Once we have the outfit complete, I will post up some pictures. Hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend. Mother's Day is next weekend so get your mamas a present...
