Soccer Fun!

Lil Limon is officially a soccer star! Physical activity is very important and with the winters we get in Wisconsin, our little guy doesn't get to run outside too much. So we enrolled him in Milwaukee Urban Soccer Collaborative's Program. He loves to see and play with other children, he's always friendly and never mean with other children, so it fits perfectly.

Yes, he's rough around the edges! He doesn't focus entirely during the game and doesn't run for the ball too much. My baby is also smart, he knows that if he gets the ball he's going to be an open target for the other kids so he'll kick the ball and then stays back to make sure he's not gonna get hurt. However he's already experienced his first warrior wound because he and another boy were not paying attention and bumped heads. He was carried off the field but he got through it and immediately wanted to go back into the game. Right now he stands as the youngest and smallest of his team but he's the also the funniest usually making all the parents laugh because he's usually on the other side of the field chasing his shadow!

This photo doesn't do it justice it was really swollen and by the time we got home it was black and blue.

Looking at the camera instead of trying to score a goal.

His favorite part is when they huddle up and cheer CHIVITAS! His teams name! On Another note our summer has been great but a little rain wouldn't hurt, it's so dry.

We know that his soccer career is just beginning! Jajaja! But I don't care if the teams loses all of their games as long as he enjoys his time out there and it's a good experience for him. There is no real life version of the movie Kicking and Screaming here! Im so proud of my little boy!

Heartfelt Thank You!

I'm not too sure if people even check my blog anymore, I guess, they should've lost hope in me by now, i update it about 4 a year Jajaja. But anywho here we go!

The past five months have not been easy for our little family, less than a week before Christmas my mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer. She has since undergone two major surgeries, a gammaknife radiosurgery and radiation treatment. Right now, she is recovering at home and resting. It has definitely been mentally, physically and emotionally draining.Luckily no matter what I'm going through little limon brightens up my day. He continues to be the center of my world despite becoming a big boy. So far for 2012, I can say that I will never know what kind of day it will be and what tomorrow may bring.

All of my mother's side of the family lives in Texas and despite being so many miles away they have been very supportive. Cancer is not a stranger to our family, my cousin Alyssa Resendez passed away from Leukemia at the age of 12, in 2006. Many of my mother's sisters and my cousins have since come to visit bearing our crazy, cold Wisconsin weather (and let me tell you they arent used to our weather). My beautiful family in Dallas even created a get well video for her where they all appear with advice and prayers, and that baby left no eye dry in our household. They have sold kidney cancer bracelets and hosted a bingo fundraiser in her name. There are no words that can explain how much we appreciate their outpouring love and support. My only sadness about it is that I wish we lived closer together so that we can all be together during this difficult time.

While my mother was in between treatments to recover from her procedures, more bad news came our way.Limon's cousin, Liros was diagnosed with Leukemia. He was in the beginning of his treatment when he passed away suddenly. The fact that his passing was so fast took us all by shock. I have so much respect for the Cruz family, I admire how united they are during difficult times. I am so lucky to come from such a great family and also marrying (technically not married yet) into a great one. Limon and I have supported eachother immensely but also we have been blessed with great support system.

I want to take this time to thank everyone that has reached out to me and my family to console and support us. When things feel like they're so hard and theres no way out. I've had people honestly touch my heart and make me feel better at the end of the day. You never know how much someones words can really affect a person God bless those people, that in the toughest times can reach out like that. Love you all!

Mustachio!!

For Christmas my present to my boys was a wii game system. Lil limon has been obsessed with mustaches and every time he sees my dad he lunges to face to feel his mustache. It's the funniest thing ever. When setting up our characters for our wii, little limon wanted his character to look like this he's so funny!
